THE COTTAGE

A good night’s sleep is perhaps the most important part of any holiday. We hope the goose down and feather* duvets and pillows, and organic cotton linens on a super-comfy, hand-crafted, kingsize bed will give a luxurious feel to your stay. The bedroom’s TV has a built-in DVD player in case you can’t drag yourself out of bed. If you need help waking up, there’s a clock radio with an mp3 input. When you are lounging in bed in the morning, it might seem a long way down to the kitchen, so there’s a small kettle for you to make a cuppa or two. The large wardrobe with built-in drawers should provide adequate space for your clothes, and there’s extra drawer space in the bedside cabinets. We’ve also provided a hair-dryer in case you leave yours behind. *The pillows and duvet are all hypo-allergenic goose down and feather, but we also have a spare set of microfibre pillows and duvet, so let us know if you are concerned about allergies, and we’ll make the bed up with these instead.

From the living room you can enjoy the fabulous mountain view without even having to get up off the sofa!

There’s also a cuddle chair for you to snuggle up together in – though you may want to keep it all to yourself and just curl up to read a book or enjoy the view.

Of course, there’s also a TV (with freesat) and DVD player, as well as a stereo with DAB radio, CD and iPod dock.

There’s a selection of DVDs, CDs, books and board games to keep you entertained, as well as walking guides/maps and even a Spanish guitar in case you wish to serenade your companion.

The kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven/grill, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and there’s a washing machine, ironing board and iron in the utility room.

There are a few restaurants within walking distance but the kitchen is well-equipped with all the pots and pans you might need if you choose to cook at home every night.

There is a spacious dining area. The table is carefully positioned by the window to allow you take in the scenery while you dine.

A stable door opens onto the patio, so that you can enjoy the view of the Snowdonia mountains and the Glaslyn estuary whether you choose to sit inside or out.

The bathroom features a walk-in electric shower, Egyptian cotton towels and with the blind open, one of the best loo views in Wales.

It is situated on the top floor next to the bedroom.

Idris Bach cottage is perched on a hillside, with a south-facing garden enjoying uninterrupted views of the Glaslyn estuary below and the Snowdonia mountains towards Harlech and Cader Idris beyond.

The garden is on two levels, with the lower terrace featuring a small summerhouse, where you can sit and enjoy the view and watch the sheep grazing below even when it rains!

The cast-iron table and chairs on the top patio outside the kitchen are a little too heavy to move around, so there are also folding chairs in the summerhouse provided for you.
