Sunday lunch walk to Garreg Lanfrothen
If you turn right out of the front door and continue along the A4085 about 2 miles, you’ll reach “Y Ring” pub at Garreg Llanfrothen (also known as the Brondanw Arms), where they do a great Sunday lunch. The pub has a big car park if you prefer to drive. Either way, you’ll need to book as it’s very popular: 01766 770 555. It’s open in the evening as well, but take a torch if you’re walking!
- There is no footpath for most of the way on the main road, so for a more pleasant walk, take the road on the right (signposted for Brynllydan Hotel) as you head out of Penrhyndeudraeth. This quiet country lane will take you past the hotel and bring you out at Llanfrothen village.
- Turn left at Llanfrothen and either stay on the road all the way to Garreg and turn right at the crossroads, or you could take the next right and follow the lane and then a footpath to Plas Brondanw if you fancy a stop there along the way.
