1. Turn left out of the front door and head down the hill to the bottom of the High Street and cross the road, continuing down past the Griffin pub towards Penrhyndeudraeth (Network Rail) station
2. Turn left at the station and follow the road as it bends around to the right.
3. Turn left into Cookes Inudstrial Estate – go through the gate at the end and you’ll find a number of footpaths and remaining buildings with informational signs about the old workings of this former gunpowder works. Go up to the top of the hill for a fantastic view (and a well-positioned bench!)
